It is a great pride for SRM University that one of our students Harsh Mani Tripathi, final year student of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been selected as one among 90 to the one year Young India Fellowship Programme. They pick the best from IIT, IIMs and other top engineering and Arts and Science Colleges.
The young India fellowship is a one year fully funded multi-disciplinary course, that trains exceptionally gifted students from around the country, across academic discipline and groom them to be change agents of India. It exposes them to rich and diverse set of subjects and perspectives delivered by some of the talented teachers from around the world.
They have mentors from diverse background from corporate leaders like Narayanamurthy, Chairman - Infosys, Deepak Parekh, Chairman - Housing Development Finance Corporation, HDFC, Sanjeev Aga, CEO Idea Cellular, Keki Dadiseth, Chairman, Sony India, Jerry Rao, CEO, Mphasis and others.
Harsh Mani Tripathi is the Co-founder of the company, Vilikh Technologies Pvt. Ltd that operates from the SRM incubation centre. The company had a turnover of Rs 12 lakhs last year. He was also recognized as one of the best student entrepreneurs in India by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and was awarded the prestigious NEN First Dot Award in 2011.
The company operates in the fields of embedded systems and robotics, runs an e-commerce portal
and also trains the fellow engineers in the mentioned fields and the same was started while he was pursuing his second year. The company also has five international partnerships, two in the United States and one each in Korea and Italy. The alumnus of the Varsity, Anushree K of Department of Biotechnology, also the Cultural Secretary of year 2010 to 2011 was selected last year and is doing very well. The University of Pennsylvania is the academic partner to Young India Fellowship Programme.
