  • As the Senior Associate Dean, he led a faculty size of over 125 full-time faculty members and more than 175 Full-time equivalents (FTE) spread over nine Academic Departments and 11 Research Centers and Institutes.  At George Washington University, he managed a revenue base of about $ 88 million and annual expenditure in excess of $ 44 million. 
  • During his tenure as the Senior Associate Dean, he led several organizational initiatives that helped the school enormously to elevate the profile of the departments in school and profession. As a result of one of these initiatives, the school now has a significant presence in the international arena, through collaborative arrangements for student and faculty exchange, study abroad and faculty-led visits and internships abroad.
  • He has worked with the World Bank and the U.S. Federal Government in various projects including designing, delivering Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses for Defense Leadership Program for US Department of Defense.
  • He has been a visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management, the University of Turin, Italy and the Norwegian School of Management; a Fulbright Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi; a distinguished Fellow at the University Of Sydney, Australia, and the Otto Monsted Chair at the Copenhagen Business School.
  • He has visited many other universities all over the world creating a wide International Network.

Research

  • He has an impressive record having published over 50 journal articles in well-regarded journals in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Member of the Editorial boards and/or Reviewer of half dozen scholarly journals, the NSF, USA and the Research Council of Canada.
  • He has directed and read over a dozen PhD dissertations and have presented scholarly papers at many National and International Conferences. He has conducted funded Research including the recently concluded grant for $ 300,000+ (of which he was the PI), awarded by the U.S. Department of Education for initiating Research Projects and Student Exchanges with two universities in Brazil.
  • He is an Examiner of PhD dissertations for several universities in Europe and India.

Awards and Accolades

  • He has been awarded the prestigious ACCENTURE AWARD, (with his co-author) twice (1995 and 2004) for outstanding paper in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
